9 months (and 9 meetings) later our group has grown and evolved to be friendly, strong and humorous which I am very proud to be part of.
Our book choices and recommendations range from every genre possible and we love to have some healthy discussions about our favourite (or not) books that we have been reading. I have read some books I'd never usually pick up in the library or book shop and am so glad to have the opportunity. More recently as a group we decided to have quarterly 'set book' book clubs and our first meeting of 'Together' by Julie Cohen was very successful, with great mixed reviews of the book. The hopes for the future are for our group to continue to evolve rather than grow in size and we are open to new suggestions as to how the Book Club works. I am very thankful for the contribution that all of our members have made so far and look forward to my monthly treat of a lovely hot drink, cake and talking about my love of reading.
So the questions for this week are:
1. Which book did you read because the film led you to it? 2 . Which film adaptation did you think they got it bang on the money? 3. Which film adaptation made you sit watching it whilst muttering "well that's not right!" 4. Any books you think are long over due to be made into a film? Looking forward to hearing what you think! |
